Finally Feeling like Fall!

October is here and I couldn't be more excited!
I don't know about anyyone else, but for me, fall always feels like the beginning of the year. It could be because I loved going to school when I was younger and school always starts up around this time, or it could be because I love knitting, and colder weather is a great excuse to knit more, or it could just be because Fall and Winter are my two favorite seasons.
But in any case, every year I look forward to colder weather because I know that with it brings, hot cocoa,  woolly knits, layering, baking, and snuggling up with big blankets for reading and watching movies.

And speaking of baking, here's some yummy chocolate chip cookies I made last night, I would've taken a picture of more of them, but they go pretty fast in my house.
In my house, there is always one other "person" besides me that doesn't mind the cold weather, and that "person" is Beetle Boo, my pom. I have never seen a dog that enjoys such cold, wet, soggy weather more than she does! I think its because of all the hair she has, but this is a dog that purposely walks through mud puddles. I like to call her my yucky puppy (even though she usually doesn't stink). Here she is playing her favorite game!
And last but definitely not least, I'll share with you one of the last projects to come off of my needles. My step-sis Whitney's 22nd birthday was about a week ago and when I asked what she wanted, she requested a purple and grey slouchy hat. So I found this great pattern called My Striped & Slouchy Hat by Christi Wasson. And instead of telling you how great it turned out, I'll just show you. Here's Whitney wearing it on her birthday.
My last happy note for this post: Is that I won giveaway #69 from YARN on the HOUSE! My first time ever winning anything! So I would just like to thank Ve and Stephen West, and the great people at Walk Collection once again for offering up such great prizes!

First Post!

So here it goes, my first venture into blogging! Hopefully it goes well and I'm able to use this space productively and keep myself organized. I love knitting, and I feel that keeping a blog will not only encourage me to expand in the types of projects I take on, but also to encourage me to move forward in other aspects of my life if I have a place to vent and re-group. So here it goes! Join me and Beetle Boo (my Pom, and my best friend) as we move onto the next adventure!

Until next time, here's a picture of Beetle Boo:

She's usually smiling in pictures, but this is an old one and I think she had just woken up.
